FATHERS DAY BLU-RAY NOW BECOMES FOUR-THER’S DAY WITH FOUR DISCS!Troma Entertainment is pleased to announce that the limited edition blu-ray release of FATHER’S DAY in time for Father’s Day will now be a four-disc set! The set, which will contain the film on high definition blu-ray and standard definition DVD, plus a DVD of extra features, and a CD soundtrack EP with songs from the movie including “The Hunter” and “We Are the Universe” from acclaimed musician Smokey Miles, will be available June 12. The gritty, gruesome, VHS throwback FATHER’S DAY follows that classic story we all grew up with: boy watches father raped and murdered, boy grows into a vengeful one-eyed man, man teams up with a priest and a male prostitute to take down his father’s killer. Variety calls FATHER’S DAY “a gleefully tasteless quasi-grindhouse nasty that’s funnier than most of the many such parodic cheesefests that have been created since, well, Grindhouse!” Ain’t it Cool News adds “FATHER’S DAY is over the top, tasteless, senseless, and completely hilarious.” For more on FATHER’S DAY, including information on filmmakers Astron-6, visit www.thefathersdaymovie.com. REEL CREEPY BLOG ABOUT TROMADANCETromadance was crazy. There was this total indie DIY punk rock vibe to everything, and considering the company involved, it just worked. I really liked that it was in a converted bowling alley, actually. They had a stage set up in the middle of the lanes, with a ton of chairs just sitting in front. In the pictures below you can see rows of bowling balls, as well as lanes on either side of the stage. Read more… Share / Discuss

TONY TIMPONE, KATHA CATO & ROY FRUMKES JOIN TROMADANCE PANELFormer Fangoria editor Tony Timpone, Street Trash writer/producer Roy Frumkes and Queens World Film Festival co-director Katha Cato will join James Gunn and Ti West on the panel at the 13th Annual TromaDance Film Festival, the only truly independent film festival that is completely FREE! The panel will be moderated by Lloyd Kaufman. Two feature films have been selected to screen – the first, The FP, tells the story of two gangs locked in a turf war in rural wasteland Frasier Park, in the deadly arena of competitive dance-fight video game Beat-Beat Revolution. The FP is a fury of fierce footwork, triumphant montages and neon street wear. Also screening is Manborg, in which a soldier, brought back to life as a cyborg, fights alongside a band of adventurers against demon hordes in a dystopian future. These will screen along with thirty-six films already announced. Share / Discuss |
