Southport Avenue, Chicago, IL 60613, on December 6 & 7 to celebrate Troma’s 40th anniversary and present the Chicago premiere of “Return to Nuke ‘Em High: Vol. 1”.

The screening will be held at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 9, 2014 at MoMA on 11 W 53rd St., New York, N.Y. 10019. The Contenders is MoMA’s annual review of the best cinema around the world. For this recurring series, the Department of Film combs through major studio releases and the top film festivals in the world, selecting influential, innovative films made in the past 12 months. In addition to “Return To Nuke ‘Em High: Vol. 1”, The Contenders 2013 includes “Gravity”, “12 Years a Slave”, “Place Beyond the Pines”, “Bling Ring”, “Blue Jasmine”, “Captain Phillips” and “Inside Llewyn Davis”.
