Throughout the month of November, Coolidge Corner Theatre will be wasting their Fridays and Saturday nights to honor the films of Lloyd Kaufman. Widely regarded as the most beloved independently operated movie theater in the nation, the Coolidge has provided the Boston area with great films by championing art house and independent films throughout it 80-plus year history. Why it’s suddenly changing course is a mystery to the New York Times and all cinema media with good taste.
The series will begin with Tromeo & Juliet (11/6, 11/7) and continue every weekend with Class of Nuke ‘Em High (11/13, 11/14), The Toxic Avenger followed by a Q&A with Lloyd Kaufman (11/21) and closing with Poultrygeist (11/27, 11/28). Tickets can be purchased at the Coolidge’s After Midnite page: http://www.coolidge.org/

Lloydbenezer Scrooge in all his glory
Lloyd Kaufman, President of Troma Entertainment Inc. and creator of The Toxic Avenger, presents Troma’s “A Halloween Carol” a Tromatic twist on Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol. The Troma Team might have been a bit befuddled by this, because unfortunately “A Halloween Carol ” was originally released for Arbor Day. Therefore, no one really gave a candy corn crap about it. Troma has decided to re-release The Pumpkin Spice Edition of “A Halloween Carol,” and it is available immediately for the actual month of October.
