TromaDance is Free to Enter and Welcomes Movies of All Genres!
With the April 30th cut-off date fast approaching, filmmakers internationally put out a gracious plea to Troma Entertainment for an extension of the submission deadline into the TromaDance Film Festival . Troma has listened to the prospective contributors and has extended the deadline for submissions into TromaDance, Troma Entertaiment’s free-to-enter independent film festival to May 23rd, 2016, it was announced today by Lloyd Kaufman, prexy of Troma Entertainment and creator of “The Toxic Avenger.”
This year is the 17th annual TromaDance Film Festival, which will be hosted at The Paperbox Theatre on July 29th and 30th, 2016. All genres of film, with open categories for shorts and feature length movies, are invited to submit. Unlike any other important film festivals, TromaDance has no entry fee for films being submitted. In addition to the international and independent film screenings TromaDance includes live music and Q & A panels with filmmakers, writers and actors. TromaDance has been the breakthrough venue for films that other festivals may be unwilling to show, like The Human Centipede and The Taint. TromaDance is the festival that truly champions the independent artist and considers all of the work submitted anonymously and without discrimination or censorship. The event at The Paperbox is admission free and first come, first serve to the public.
Another notable upcoming Troma event April 30th at Lucky 13 Saloon in Brooklyn, NY is the first ever TROMAnimation Film Festival. The new spawn of TromaDance opens doors those artists who specialize in animation of all kinds, from hand drawn to 3-D and digital, with an opportunity to showcase their work among peers and accomplished panelists, like Ukino Joe and Maxwell Atoms. Also coming soon and currently accepting submissions is TromaDance Detroit, a satellite extension of the TromaDance Film Festival organized by Mike Hartman, director of recent Troma release Chubbies and Blood Orgy at Beaver Lake.
TromaDance is an opportunity for everyone who’s every picked up a camera to have their work seen without the compromises required by elitist cartel interference. TromaDance is proud to be the first and only film festival of the people, for the people and by the people.
